ABOUT SKYE

NICKNAMES:

Skye isn’t even sure how you’d shorten his name.

PRONOUNS:

He/Him

AGE:

12, at least appearance-wise. Very mature for his age.

JOINED SYSTEM IN:

2016

SPECIAL NOTES:

Speaks with a stammer, though it’s gotten better over the years. When writing things meant to be ‘written’, not ‘spoken’, like a blog entry, the system does not type out the stammer. When writing things that are ‘spoken’, as in direct chatting or transcripts of inner conversations, it is typed out as heard. Calm and fairly confident in-system, Skye feels awkward interacting at front, in part because of the stammer, and in part because he doesn’t identify with humans.

FROM SKYE

It’s a lot harder to write something about yourself than to write almost anything else, I think. I could tell you a lot about my brothers, but I’m not sure what exactly I’m supposed to tell you about myself. The most important thing to me is my family, and helping to take care of them, really, so it’s just easier to talk about them.

I think I’m happiest when I’m in the middle of doing something, making a difference, doing things that the others aren’t sure can even be done. They don’t really see organizing the way that I do, so there’s a lot that can be done around here that they think is impossible, and it feels good when I pull it off.

FROM THE SYSTEM

Skye is a miracle worker, I swear. He's quiet and calm when I'm definitely not as calm, and if you let him sit with a problem for a while, he'll often come up with a solution. If we didn't have him, we'd never have been able to set up to record or stream anything, because I certainly don't have the talent for making space in our cramped living area that he does. It's not that cleaning and organizing is the only thing that he does or is good at, but it does get mentioned a lot because it's what he's good at that the rest of us most definitely are not, and he's passionate about making a difference that way. He didn't start out this way, but now that he's well settled in, he's the calm underneath the storm that some of us can be. He does his best to take care of me, but I'm probably very difficult about it.

– Rhodri

He's great, but I think sometimes we don't exactly get along all that well. We have real different ideas of what we need to do to help out, and a lot of times, he's telling me that I'm being too scary with how fast I'm trying to move, but I think he's hanging back too much when like yeah, it's hard and he's not exactly happy about it, but Rhodri can handle it. We don't fight exactly, but it's tough sometimes, I get that he's been here longer and he really really cares, and I respect that, but I don't always agree with it.

– Ransom

he a good kitty. when he is new i am feeling some jealous because he is getting many attentions but it is not the same when the doggy is here, now i am feeling more it is normal. he would doing more the works but it is being hard for being fronty for doing. he quiet lots.

– Teo

Skye is often quite a soft and quiet presence here, quietly working in the background, pushing only gently, but that should not be taken to mean that he does nothing or is unimportant. He is incredibly strong underneath the gentleness, and is centered in a way that some of the others require as grounding. He may not have opted to age in his physical appearance, but he has grown significantly as a person since he arrived, and he's become quite a wonderful, nurturing young man.
